The Haven Spa Suite
Rock the day and night away when you set sail on the newly enhanced Norwegian Getaway. Haven passengers also have direct access to the ship's spa and fitness center. We found some of the best views in port to be all the way forward on the upper level of the courtyard. Norwegian Getaway features the Skyy Vodka Ice Bar, which offers a similar experience to what you would experience at an ice hotel in Scandinavia. This arctic-like chamber features ice everywhere, including the bar, seats, and glasses.

Located on Deck 16 near the main pool area, this largely outdoor restaurant features classic American style cuisine. Selections such as lobster rolls, burgers, fried chicken, and more are served up daily. There are approximately 11 different bars and lounges onboard NCL Getaway.
I was very pleased and surprised just how nice and spacious our room was. This is the most unique and cool (literally) bar that I have ever seen on a cruise ship! The Skyy Vodka Ice Bar features large sculptures and seating made of ice, and is illuminated in beautiful colors of blue and green. This bar is kept at about 17 degrees Fahrenheit, so it is recommended that guests wear warmer clothes to visit this space. This area consists of a large thermal pool, salt room, sauna, rain showers, and steam room. This space offers plenty of comfortable lounge chairs to take in the relaxing and beautiful ocean views.
The Haven Owners Suite
The vessel debuted with a very “Miami” vibe throughout (and the ships’ multiple godmothers are the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders), partly in thanks to the ship’s hull. The entire check-in process seemed like a well oiled machine, and NCL does a great job of helping guests to get onboard as quickly as possible so they can begin their vacations. The performers at Howl At The Moon were especially talented, and played a multitude of instruments. This was my first time experiencing a dueling piano show, and I enjoyed it so much, that we stopped by Headliner’s multiple times throughout our voyage to catch the show. My favorite areas of the Ropes Course are the two zip lines and the Plank. The Plank is an element of the course that allows guests to stand on a plank that stretches far over the edge of the ship. There is a limited menu with several drinks, all of which feature Skyy Vodka. Once guests have ordered their first drink from the bar, they are handed a cup made of ice, and are free to wander the room, explore, and take photos.

This unique venue is inspired by the real ice hotels located in Scandinavia. I sailed on the Norwegian Getaway for the first time this August, and it was an incredible experience. The Norwegian Getaway ship was built for socializing, and its deck plans make it easy. Most of the action takes place around 678 Ocean Place, the three-deck open space around which many of Getaway's bars are located. Have dinner in Le Bistro on Deck 6, and then catch an improv comedy show across the way at Headliners, before finishing the night at Sugarcane Mojito Bar on Deck 8 without missing a beat.
At night, though, the entertainment really heats up, with more adult-centric activities, including adults-only comedy shows, piano duels, dancing, karaoke and more. A lot of the parties are themed, so one night might be all 80s and another might be a Glow Party. If you decide you want to explore even more of Norwegian Getaway’s 28 restaurants, you can easily do so for reasonable fees.
Otherwise, there was always plenty of room to stroll the ship. Taste is almost an exact replica of Savor, just on the adjacent side of the ship, and features the color red in its decor rather than the blue of Savor. Each day of the sailing, the daily specials on the menu changed, but the classics remained the same at all three main dining rooms. Because of this, no matter which dining room guests choose, they will have the same food options. The only 24-hour food location onboard offers classic Irish pub fare.
Aft-Facing Balcony Cabins on Norwegian Getaway offer 247 square feet of outdoor space. Midship balcony cabins, on Deck 13, offer balconies that are about 22 square feet. Family Balcony cabins on Getaway are the same size as regular balcony staterooms but are all located on decks 13 and 14, offering easy access to the pools and the kids’ club.
